Workouts
If you're looking for a workout that gives you the most bang for your buck - then a HIIT workout is the way to go!! HIIT stands for high intensity interval training. Don't let that intimidate you though, as the high intensity portion only lasts seconds! You go hard for short bursts of 30 to 60 seconds followed with a short period of rest. This format is designed to give your entire body, including your heart, a great workout. Here are some of the benefits of a HIIT style workout:
- Burn more fat. Raising your heart rate in short bursts over a period of time will cause you to burn more calories and fat up to 24 hours after your workout!
- It's efficient. It is proven that even 15 minutes of HIIT training can be more beneficial than an hour spent jogging on a treadmill!
- Build muscle. Most HIIT workouts include movements with large muscle groups, such as squats or push-ups. Workout out different muscle groups in short yet intense bursts will help you to build muscle and burn more fat.
- Minimal equipment. You can get a great full body workout in with just your body weight or a couple of light weights, making it convenient to do almost anywhere!
