Halloween is here, and the holidays are just around the corner, so every little healthy tactic you take NOW matters! Busy schedules, guests, elaborate meals, candy and treats... it's easy to fall into the trap of less exercise and more snacking. So try these tips to stay on track this season, and do my fun pumpkin workout!

Tips to Stay On Track This Fall

1) Plan your day the day before. Write down what you need to accomplish the next day, and schedule it in. This way you can prioritize daily exercise, whether it's one of my fat-blasting dance sessions in my membership, a brisk walk, or a toning session to help you gain muscle and boost your metabolism! I am a big proponent of working out in the morning, if you can - then it's done and you can go on with your day feeling great! Right now try my quickie pumpkin workout!

2) Meal-prep. When you know sweets and treats will be around, meal prepping can help you focus on healthy meals that will fill you up - that way you can still have a treat, but you wont crave as many because you are full with healthy, nutrient-rich foods! I like to plan and shop for my evening meals, and then meal prep for healthy snacks (hummus and veggies, apple slices with peanut butter) so I have something easy to reach for!

3) Savor. You should treat yourself, but instead of continually putting candy into your mouth, choose a piece you really are craving, and savor the taste, texture and smell. Then wait a bit before considering the next piece - you may not even want it.

4) Drink water. Fall's dry and cooler air can lead us to drink less water, but we need it now just as much as in warmer months! Staying hydrated helps to ward off colds, keeps you energized and regular, and can even plump up your skin. Keep a refillable water bottle handy and sip all day.

Remember that not every day is going to hit at 100%, so take whatever time you have to get in some exercise, and focus on 80% of your nutrients to be healthy, so you can treat yourself the other 20% of the time, and keep sipping that water!

And go grab some mini pumpkins (or cans of beans) and do this quickie arm workout now - and throughout the day!

Let's live FIT, HAPPY and HEALTHY - together!!

Halloween Pumpkin Workout Transcript:

Happy Halloween, everybody. Here's a quick way to firm up your arms by using small pumpkins. My favorite one is some bicep curls. This is helping the front of your arms. Pump it up. Come on. Have fun. Enjoy yourself. Okay, then now to firm the back of the arms. Lift your arms and pumpkins up. . You can do it. Pull in your tummy. Keep your back strong and straight. Lift it. Lift, lift, lift. Great. And release. And shoulder presses. Yes. Firm sexy shoulders. You can do it. Try to do each exercise for one minute, and now you have a upper body. Total body, firmer.
