EVER BETTER™ Snack Options

We are in the midst of our EVER BETTER™ Challenge (but you can still sign up - it's free to join!), so today I wanted to look at some easy and healthy snack options to help you get through your afternoon snack attacks! I'm a big believer in snacks as long as they're healthy: a good snack will tide you over so you don't overeat later, and it can provide an energy boost if you are feeling the afternoon slump. If you are prepared with healthy snack options, you are more likely to choose those over something out of convenience. Snacking can certainly be healthy - it's all about what you choose, use this list to help fuel your workouts now and all year long!
- Hummus: This protein powered snack is a great option to keep you fuller, longer! Pair it with some cut up veggies or even a few pita chips. You can make your own hummus or use store bought (if you are a member at DeniseAustin.com you will find some easy hummus recipes!)... both are equally delicious!
- Yogurt Parfait: In a bowl combine 1/2 cup of yogurt, sprinkle with two tablespoons of whole grain cereal and 1/4 cup of berries - I love blueberries, raspberries or strawberries. As an added bonus cut up a couple EVER BETTER™ Protein Bites to sprinkle over the top... you will have a sweet, healthy snack that offers up fiber, protein, vitamins and gut-healthy probiotics!
- Fruit and Cheese Kabob: Take one part-skim mozzarella string cheese and cube it, then thread on to a kabob spear, alternating it with fresh grapes. This snack is the most simple to make, fun to look at and eat!!
