Workouts
Welcome to my December Fast and Fit Workout! This 5-minute workout is the perfect way to get in a quick burst of movement during this busy holiday season. I know this time of the year can be stressful and maybe even overwhelming.... but I promise you getting a workout in, even if it's just a simple 5 minutes, will help you to cope with the stress and you will feel so much better! Here are a few more ways to help manage the stress that this season can bring.
- Breathe. Breathing exercises can instantly calm down your mind and body. When you are feeling overwhelmed sit or stand up tall, close your eyes, focus your mind on the back of your throat and inhale slowly and deeply. Try to visualize your breath moving down your throat. Hold that breath for 3 seconds, and then slowly exhale. Again, visualizing your breath leaving your lungs and coming out of your mouth. Repeat this 2-3 times and you will feel instant relief!
- Laugh. If you are stressed and frustrated, I know laughing is probably the last thing you want to do, but try it!! Try to find something.... maybe it's a TV show or a movie that you know makes you laugh every time, call a friend that is always sure to make you smile. Laughter is the best medicine, use it!!
- Let go. Learning how to determine what things you can and can't control, and resolving to let go what you cannot control can be a game changer! There is no use in worrying or stressing about things that you have no control over.
